by Frederick Stonehouse - Haunted Lakes is probably Frederick Stonehouse's most readable book.  This volume relates the folklore of the lakes, recounting classic Great Lakes tales of ghosts, strange occurrences and supernatural events.  Many of the events are rooted in historical fact and Stonehouse provides a carefully researched bibliography.   Although the book is not specifically about shipwrecks, there are many anecdotes derived from them.  This is an excellent book for any Great Lakes maritime history buff.
